Hi guysss i am back and this time as requested on my instagram, i'll be sharing with you my skincare routine. i created a poll asking my fellow followers to chose between my christmas makeup or skincare routine. and yup 80% chose skincare routine so here you go.
Okay before that, get to know your skin's identity first. is your skin normal? dry?? oily or sensitive ?? or maybe combination skin ? i mean get to know about your skin type first before you apply anything on it unless you wanna take a risk but please don't harm your skin. its just not worth it. no. after knowing which skin type you belong to, get a grasp on your skin concerns : acne, occasional breakouts, blackheads, redness, dark spot, skin pigmentation etc
As for me, my skin type is normal to dry but basically more to dry. my main skin concerns are acne, blackhead and blemishes. my skincare routine consist of the 3 basic skincare steps that is required which are cleansing, toning & moisturizing. this 3 steps are very important, don't advice you to skip any of them. also this routine should be done twice daily, day & night. *wink* these are the necessary needs that your skin need if you want it to be healthy ! so its alright to give them some attention they need. skincare > makeup.
First things first, always always i mean it always clean your hands. make sure you have clean hands before you start.
first step, cleansing. find yourself a suitable cleanser for your skin. i have 4 cleansers because i double-cleanse & 1 is for whenever i feel my skin is going to have a breakout. what is double-cleanse ? basically its cleansing your face twice with 2 different cleanser. Double cleansing gets rid of "dirt that sits on top of your skin," along with makeup, excess oil, and dead skin. Its actually pretty beneficial to add in that extra effort so don't be lazy. If you're wondering, the 3rd cleanser is the one i use when i'm wearing makeup, it helps eliminate the extra impurities on my skin like to make sure all the makeup is striped away. the cleansers im currently using are :

bija trouble when i have breakouts/acne |
senka's perfect whip works fine to remove makeup |
my normal cleanser i use on a daily basis |
i use this together with the label young when im not breaking out or anything. oh and beside that is the day cream i use |
Next step, toning. Toning should be considered an important part of the cleansing process. A good toner will remove any remaining bits of oil, dirt and debris left behind by the cleanser. More importantly, toner will help soothe, nourish and hydrate the skin while restoring its delicate pH balance plus helping with the appearance of pores. I recently switched to a new toner and it works wonders on my skin. I can see that my skin is clearing up and less blemishes appeared. I usually apply toner on a facial cotton or you can use your hands too either way its fine. I use the other toner on certain areas when i get redness to soothe it after i pop a zit or my skin is irritated. the toners im currently using are :
bought this from watson yay eucerin |
witch hazel is good for acne prone or sensitive skin. thumbs up! |
Moving on, moisurizing. This step is extremely important to me because my skin is dry to the point that i can see some skin flakes. heck no-no. With the right kind of moisturizer for your skin can help boost hydration level and skin flaking or dullness keeping your skin moist thus preventing it from drying out. A protective layer of moisture that lasts all day is very crucial. Believe it or not, without it you lose a layer of protection for your skin when you are out or working. I have 2 moisturizer :
Clinique never fails to impress, my daily moisturizer |
i apply this on pimples or whenever i feel like it |
Another extra step im going to mention is exfoliating !! Exfoliating/scrubbing is the removal of dry/dead skin cells on the surface of the skin and is one of the most important aspects of a skincare routine for the face. Exfoliation also increases blood circulation, which in turn helps you to achieve healthy and glowing skin but be careful, don't scrub your skin always because it is harsh on the skin so once or twice a week is more than enough. oh and when u scrub do not double cleanse. scrub + cleanser is enough or else your skin will stripped badly causing problems. I use only one scrub ok :
I love this scrub and it smells very nice & pleasant |
I also use mask very often. Sheet mask, clay mask, peel-off mask and sleeping mask haha. Yep thats the amount of mask i switch up to use twice or thrice a week. For people with dry skin like me its better to use mask alot because it helps to moisturize the skin and other skin condition depending on their ingredients, masks can tighten and tone, hydrate, nourish, draw out impurities, help blemishes heal, calm and soothe, rejuvenate the skin & etc. If you ask me, i use sheet masks & clay mask alot especially the ones from Innisfree & The Face Shop. I'm not too picky about mask i tend to buy alot from good brands. Nature Republic, Bio Essence, Innisfree Jeju Volcanic Color Clay Mask & etc. I use sleeping mask when im going to sleep, it helps me to hydrate and quench my skin when i sleep.
super good for pores, blackheads & drying acne/impurities out |
for sebum poreblems (pun intended) |
sleeping mask from laneige is a must |
i love this 2 mask frm Skin&Lab they work miraculously for pores & blackhead problems. i tend to use them together hehe |
Last but not least, pimple care. What do I do when i get pimples or breakouts? I apply the Mario Badescu drying lotion or i tend to pop them lmao. If you want to pop the pimple make sure you do it the right way you can google it. After popping them i dab the redness on the skin with witch hazel toner and apply clear pimple gel for anti bacteria. You can apply aloe vera on your zit too in fact i advice you to do nothing at all to your zit. Yes. The do-nothing regime works and preventing is better than curing it. If you pop a pimple the wrong way you may end up with a pimple scar or dark blemishes so it's better you keep your hands away from your face !
My skincare tips for everyone is :
#1 Always keep your hands clean & avoid touching your face often .
#2 drink alot of water & sleep well.
#3 seek help from a dermatologist if needed.
Okayyy with that^ i end this lengthy post of my skincare regime haha i hope i break it down for you to understand easily, so take care of your skin everyone for the new year & also this is my last post for 2017. go be beautiful and happy for 2018. see you next year !!
